The Yin and The Yang

Posted by Stephanie (Tuscaloosa, United States) on 4 March 2007 in Lifestyle & Culture.

This is a photo from inside St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis. I find this piece extremely amazing. It was made by teens seeking treatment in the hospital.

The yin and the yang were are made from handwritten words that describe a patients thoughts, feelings, fears, hopes, love, prayers and pain while in the hospital. It was made by several teens in the "Teen Room," which is a place where the 13+ crowd (no adults!) can go in to escape their doctor's, family, and treatment. They have the ability play, draw, paint, study, play video games and just hang out in this room.

If you've ever heard of St. Jude, or even if you're not familiar with this program, it's an amazing experience to visit and actually see the miracles that are performed there!
